My best friend called me this morning and asked me to take him to the ER. He had cut himself pretty badly splitting firewood, getting ready for this next winter. So I rushed over to his house and scooped him up and took him to the ER. We figured I could get him there much quicker than waiting for an ambulance to arrive. So that’s what we did. Once we got there we spent the whole day there. I really think that they could do something to improve the waiting time in the ER – I think there is no excuse for the extreme lengths of time people have to wait to get some medical attention! Very aggravating!
Books
I enjoy reading books, but I find that as I get older I spend less time reading them. My eyes get tired and my brain stops processing what I’m reading. I’m thinking that I should be getting audio books instead and listen to them when I’m driving my car. Then I’ll at least get the information that I was hoping to get without the strain on my eyes! I’ll have to check the local library and see what books are available on CDs to borrow.
Free ice cream
One of the things that I like about Wendy’s is that at the end of the year the restaurants offer the customers the chance to buy a little key tag for $1.00 that gives the customer the right to free junior frosties for the entire next calendar year. The proceeds go to charity. I go to Wendy’s often enough to actually get a lot of free frosties, so it is a good deal for me! Yay for free ice cream!
They should tell you first
One of my pet peeves is when you go into a fast food restaurant and place an order and pay for the order and then when you get the food it is missing part of the order. When you find out that it is missing (if you are lucky you are still there) and bring it to their attention, they reply “oh, we’re all out of that!” Well, don’t you think you should tell me that before I walk or drive away and offer me a refund or an alternative? This has happened at least once in every fast food restaurant chain I’ve visited, so I can’t point my finger and yell at one particular chain. Just plain old bad customer service. I think that the next time it happens to me I’m going to go online and complain to the company directly.
Not too bad
Last night we were all feeling too lazy to cook, so we decided to cook up the DiGiorno’s frozen pizza we have had in the freezer for a couple of weeks. It was the rising crust three meat pizza. I had my doubts about whether or not I would like it, but I have to tell you that it was really very good. So good in fact that I’ve put it on the shopping list to buy more. And chances are pretty good that we’ll be eating that pizza a lot more in the future instead of going to the pizza restaurant that costs double the amount that the frozen pizza cost!
I’ve tried their thin crispy crust pizza and didn’t like it at all, so I’m really glad I like their rising crust pizza! It’s nice to know I can have a few of them in the freezer for future times we don’t feel like cooking anything complicated!
