My dad taught me how to play various solitaire games. We used a deck of cards and there were different ways to deal out the hand and set some cards aside or order them that made for game variations.

Now with the use of computers, I’ve discovered there are many other types of solitaire games that have nothing to do with a deck of cards. You can use tiles and play majong. You can use beads and play Bejeweled. And there are dozens of video games of all types that let you play by yourself.

Over the past few months, I’ve been hearing a few people talking about “clean coal.” From time to time I hear something about new technologies being developed to make coal a “clean” energy source. I’ve watched a lot of television news stories about how coal is removed from the earth, how dangerous coal mining is, and how the economies of states like West Virginia and Pennsylvania depend largely on coal, but I am not convinced that coal is the direction we should be going. I think that we still need to be looking at solar energy, wind energy, and bio-diesel fuels made from algae.

I heard on the radio this morning that Volkswagen is planning to release at the end of 2010 a two-seater car that gets 234 mpg! I tried googling it on the Internet, but can’t find any information on it at all, which is discouraging because I love to look up stuff like that! Anyway, according to what I heard on the radio, it is an extra small car, the two seats are lined up one behind the other to improve the air dynamics. I’d love more information on that! I wonder how much trunk room there is for groceries!?????
