Next week we will be celebrating the 4th of July, which is one of my favorite holidays. Watching the fireworks is always a “blast” and it is a nice 3 day weekend. I can only hope that this heat wave is done and over with by the time it rolls around, it is playing havoc on so many people. I just ain’t right.
I don’t know what I’d be drinking if we didn’t have iced tea. I was brought up on iced tea and have always preferred tea over coffee. I’m real glad that McDonalds has some great sweet iced tea on the dollar menu. That’s a bargin, with free refills to boot.
Well we haven’t held true this year with the old saying that April Showers bring May Flowers. I sure hope that we do get some rain soon, my well is acting like it is running on the dry side and that isn’t good news. I wonder who pissed off Mother Nature this year. We have had nothing but wacky weather for so very long, it’s getting old.
I have promised my niece that I would take her to see the newest version of the old classic tale of Alice In Wonderful. The only reason I have consented to do so is that I am a Johnny Depp fan and I hear that he has done a good job in this new film. Guess we will see this weekend.
Lately I have been hearing some good music. I’m especially impressed with a new release by Robert Earl Keen. If you have a chance to hear him, I hope you will give him a listen and let me know what you think.
