Actually the title of this post basically tells it all. I dropped my cell phone into the toilet. What a dope! Of course I don’t have insurance on the darn thing. So it’s looks like I’m now in the market to find a new cell phone. I’m glad that Internet will make it a much easier task so that I won’t have to go running from store to store to find the right one for me.
I am a pizza fan. I could eat pizza, pepperoni please, seven days a week. It used to be that pizza was a cheap meal but those days seemed to be long gone. So it is nice to see the pizza wars that are going on with the several large pizza chains that are here in town.
As far a frozen pizza goes, ugh……………..
From what I can tell listeing to the news, the cost of a gallon of gas has evened out across most of the country. They say the average price for a gallon of gas is now about $2.59 a gallon most places. Of course, there are some places, like California, where the cost is a lot higher.
I’ve been hearing on the news, and reading articles about the many businesses that are laying off employees, closing stores and branch offices, and so many are just downright going completely out of business! It certainly makes the average consumer very uneasy about spending any money on anything that is not absolutely necessary!
I’m afraid that this is going to turn into a vicious cycle, with a downward spiral that is going to be really hard to pull back. I hope the economic stimulus package does the trick!
I was surprised earlier today when my wife pulled out three “empty” bottles of Gold Bond hand lotion (the pump style) and cut them open with a knife. I asked “what in the world are you doing?” She replied “salvaging hand lotion. There’s a lot of lotion left in these bottles!” She ended up getting about eight ounces of lotion out of the bottles! She used a rubber cooking spatula to scoop out the lotion and transferred the lotion into four empty night cream jars she had been saving.
I was so impressed by how much lotion she salvaged from being thrown away! That is a lesson I’ve learned today – when you think your pump bottle of something is empty, there really is a lot left – you can cut it open and transfer the contents to a jar and use it up! It may not seem like a lot at the time, but it adds up!
